“Dropped into a Saturday class while in town and had a great experience. Coaches JJ and Sean were very welcoming, and honestly the whole class was too. The gym was very clean and had a great atmosphere. The instruction was detailed, and they took the time to help everyone understand and complete the techniques correctly. Really enjoyed the training and the vibe of the class. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.”

“I'm 41 and have no experience with BJJ. I've wanted to do this for awhile but have hesitated. Finally, a friend of mine joined John's Gym and said I should try it. This is exactly the place for me! The instructors are expert and encouraging. The higher belts offer important insights. The workout is incredible. The community is great. I'm learning a ton about BJJ. Each session is challenging and rewarding. If your are on the fence about showing up to a BJJ gym, try this one out.”

“If you are looking for a gym that embodies the term family, then this is where you need to train. The coaches are absolutely amazing, from beginner to advanced level BJJ the training is mentally and physically challenging. There are 3 Johns gym facilities, I have trained at all of them, and I can assure you they are all worth checking out. The Georgetown gym is a very dynamic training facility due to the MMA classes they offer along with their BJJ programs. If you are looking for a gym that will challenge you, and push you to your limits this is the place. Drop by and see for yourself.”

“John’s Gym Georgetown has been such a positive experience for our daughter for the past two years. Their knowledge, compassion for the kids, and consistent methods of teaching has been top notch. Wonderful instructors, staff and families as well.”

“I have been taking my child here for the kids classes for the last few months and it has been great. Not only is a great physical activity for him, but it helps develop important developmental resilience. The coaches are amazing and they really help with the kids to understand and have at least 1 coach per group of kids. Can’t say enough about how happy we are with John’s Gym and we look forward to seeing the progress of our child.”

“I've been trying to find a comfortable home for Jiu Jitsu over the years and think I finally find my home at Johns. Great for folks of all levels, they'll push you but also make sure you understand what you're doing at a pace that is appropriate for your skill and fitness level. Recommend for anyone.”

“John's Gym in Georgetown has been an incredible place for our family. My daughters, Hazel and Violet, have been training here for over two years, and the experience has been outstanding. Coach JJ creates an environment that balances discipline, hard work, and encouragement.”

“Two of our kids (7&5) attend John's Gym and they LOVE it. I am very picky about the coaches, teachers, etc that I will allow to have influence with my kids, so when we were on the hunt for somewhere to train, I was thorough.”

“We have been attending John's Gym for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for nearly three years. From the beginning, we have loved the family-friendly environment and Coach JJ's approach to teaching kids.”

Why people stay for years.
Confidence through self-defense
Real skills, taught patiently. The kind of confidence that lives in your body, not your head.
Real fitness. Built on the mat
Conditioning that comes from training, not treadmills. Lose weight, build strength, sharpen your mind.
Discipline that carries off the mat
Problem-solving under pressure becomes a habit. Students leave calmer, sharper, and harder to rattle — at school, at work, anywhere.

One mat. One team.
Kids, adults, competitors, and first-timers — everyone trains under the same roof in Georgetown. Show up enough and these people stop being teammates and start being family.
Built on the backs of the people who served.
We are a proud We Defy affiliate. The program supports combat veterans coping with military-connected disabilities — providing a long-term path to overcome those challenges through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and fitness training.
If you or someone you know qualifies, we'll get you on the mat. No barrier.

Still here? Let’s get you on the mat.
